Second- and third-year students of the course Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Urban Design Projects move their academic activity into the city with an open session in Tenor Stagno Square, in the context of the TAC! Urban Architecture Festival.
Activity details
The activity The Square as an Expanded Classroom will take place on 25 November, from to , in Tenor Stagno Square, sheltered by the De Roca Madre pavilion. Conceived as an extension of the university classroom into public space, the proposal explores the square as a place for observation, analysis and reflection on the city, its uses and its possible transformations through urban design.
Teaching context
The session is part of the course Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Urban Design Projects, with the participation of second- and third-year students. The work in the square will make it possible to:
- Experiment with place-based learning in public space.
- Connect the course’s theoretical content with a real case in the city.
- Analyse the interaction between citizens, architecture and urbanism.
- Reflect on the role of the square as a setting for encounter and teaching practice.
