Presentation
The School of Architecture at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has over fifty-five years of experience in teaching aimed at preparing students for the profession of architecture. Its history began in 1968, when architectural studies were established in the Canary Islands under the auspices of the ETSA of Madrid.
Over the years, more than 1,900 students have been trained, many of whom have excelled brilliantly in the professional, academic, and research arenas both nationally and internationally.
A large number of professors have passed through the School of Architecture, who have carried out, and continue to do so, accredited teaching and research work, participating in congresses, seminars, biennials, competitions, exhibitions, etc., both within and outside this institution. The school has organized numerous international scientific events and has also produced notable publications, directed and completed doctoral theses, and conducted extensive cultural activities over the years.
The interest in internationalization in the exchange of scientific research and teaching experience is combined with the fact that it is one of the centers with the highest reception and emission of students at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with current mobility around 7% of its students.
This teaching and research activity would not have been possible without the work of all the Technical, Management, Administrative, and Service staff assigned to the Center and the various participating units, Departments, Library, and Laboratories, who have always diligently performed their indispensable functions to achieve the set objectives.
In the 2009/2010 academic year, the process of adaptation to the EHEA began, aimed at increasing mobility and the quality of teaching and research to enhance the convergence of all the countries in the European Community.

The interest in internationalization in the exchange of scientific research and teaching experience is combined with the fact that it is one of the centers with the highest reception and emission of students at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with current mobility around 15% of its students.
This teaching and research activity would not have been possible without the work of all the Administration and Services staff assigned to the Center and the various participating units, Departments, Library, and Laboratories, who have always diligently performed their indispensable functions to achieve the set objectives.
In the 2009/2010 academic year, the process of adaptation to the EHEA began, aimed at increasing mobility and the quality of teaching and research to enhance the convergence of all the countries in the European Community.
Currently, the 2010 Architecture Degree Study Plan is being taught, soon to be phased out. The next plan, Degree + Qualifying Master’s, is under preparation, and its implementation is expected in the 2025-2026 academic year.
